Emotional Support For Healing
A diagnosis of breast cancer, like all major life changes, can disrupt a woman’s world and bring up unexpected feelings. A newly diagnosed breast cancer patient is often sent home with a prescription for medical care but less often provided a map for navigating cancer’s emotional terrain. Fortunately, there are many wonderful programs in Colorado designed for breast cancer survivors. These resources can assist you in moving through the process of breast cancer and beyond. Finding the resources that are right for you may take time and energy but many survivors acknowledge the long lasting benefits of seeking emotional support.

What Kids Need to Know
Pain makes children grow up quickly. To encounter a cancer diagnosis in a parent can be a very painful experience, but children are adaptable and often make incredibly good adjustments. However, there are two things children truly need:
• To know who is going to be caring for them and see that their life goes on through a parent’s cancer treatment, and
• To be kept in the loop of information appropriate to their age and need for information.
